Good Hygiene

Our unit this week was Good Hygiene! We talked about how important healthy habits are!

We did lots of fun activities this week. We sprinkled germs (cinnamon) on our hands. We talked about washing our hands with soap and water for a full 30 seconds. We sang the ABC song as our time guide! We also soaked our dinosaur teeth (hard boiled eggs) in soda and water overnight to see which was better for our teeth.

The next day we were able to see what soda and water can do to our teeth. Very gross!! We definitely learned that soda is not healthy for us and that water is!We then worked to see if we could brush off all of those dirty sugar bugs!We worked on making patterns with teeth! We had fun working with shaving cream and extra large toothbrushes! In Art this week we painted a tooth pattern with toothbrushes.

We also worked with pink play dough and some more teeth!

Ms. Erin from Kids Healthy Teeth came to our school this week. She showed us what to expect when we go to the dentist and even brought Sami the Snake out to demonstrate!

We took advantage of the beautiful weather that we have been having lately and had extra playground time! We have had a blast playing outside!!Next week our unit is The Wild West! On Tuesday and Wednesday Gigglebugs will be at our school to take individual Spring photos. The background will be western themed. Your little cowpokes are welcome to wear any western gear that they have! We will also have some special activities coming to our school next week! We will get to ride a train and jump in a moonwalk!

Down on the Farm

Down on the Farm!

We had such a fun week talking all about farm animals!

Our bible story this week was The Lost Son. We talked about how God's love is like the the fathers love in this story. The children really understood that the lost son had to become a pig farmer. The bible that we used this week (The Beginner's Bible) it tells how the son even had to eat pig food. They thought this was hilarious!

In Art this week we painted a pink pig with mud (brown paint) and we stamped a farm scene!

In our sensory table this week we got to play with farm animal rubber duckiesIn centers this week we sorted farm animal balloons.

We bathed farm animals with special farm soap (shaving cream!)

We worked with clothespins this week. The children needed to find the matching legs to the farm animals!Everyone was able to listen to Old MacDonald in our new listening center! On Tuesday we celebrated Titus's birthday! We had yummy cupcakes!

We enjoyed the beautiful weather on Thursday and went out to the playground twice!

Next week our unit is Good Hygiene! We will be talking all about germs and we will even get a special visit from Kids Healthy Teeth! A link for Kids Healthy Teeth has been added.

Valentine's Day

Love is in the air!

(Thank you Jackson P. for the beautiful roses!)

This week we talked all about loved ones, Valentine's day, and God's love for us! We read many Valentine Books. We especially liked; Froggy's First Kiss, Valentine Mice, God's Love, Heartprints and Valentine Friends.

In art this week we made Spin Art Hearts and we made a heart collage!

(I am not sure why I can never turn artwork...)

In centers this week we worked on sorting with conversation heart candies.

We practiced using scissors to cut Valentine wrapping paper.

We played with playdough and Valentine cookie cutters.
In our sensory table we worked with heart shaped sponges in red glitter water!
We had a great time showing off our Valentine Show-n-tell items!
The children enjoyed passing out their Valentine's to their friends.

We hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day with your little Valentine.

Next week our unit will be Down on the Farm!
