NO SCHOOL ON 1/19/2009

Just a reminder that the school will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2009!

On Tuesday we will be doing Library since we will not be able to do it on Monday. Please remember to bring back your child's book in the baggie so that they will be able to check out a new one.

We will also be doing Show-n-Tell on Tuesday. Our unit is "At the ZOO" so try to bring something zoo related!

Upcoming Unit

The week of January 26-29 our unit will be "LET'S GO CAMPING!" We are in need of a few supplies. We need each child to bring 2 toilet paper rolls. If you can supply a few extra just in case another friend needs them, that would be GREATLY appreciated!

We will also be doing special snacks on both school days for this week. On Monday/ Wednesday we will be making Trail Mix and on on Tuesday/ Thursday we will be making SMORES!! There is a sign up sheet outside our door for our special snack items that you can bring!

Teddy Bears and Pj

PJ's & TEDDY BEARS!

We had a wonderful week talking all about night time and teddy bears! The kids all LOVED wearing their pajamas to school on Tuesday and Wednesday! We had special teddy bear treats for our snacks!

In Art this week we painted a teddy bear and we made a special keepsake pillowcase. (I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of a finished pillow case...)

We had fun playing in our sensory table this week. The kids had to find the teddy bears that were hiding in the sand! We also practiced our lacing skills on these teddy bears!

Our bible story this week was Jesus gets lost from Luke 2:41-52.

The kids really enjoyed singing and running around the room to "Going on a bear hunt!" They enjoyed this SO much I think we did it almost 6 times each day :)

LIBRARY!!

We are so excited that our library will be starting next week!

You child will bring home a book from our book center every Monday/ Wednesday for you to read to them. The book will need to be returned the following Monday/Wednesday in order to get a new book to bring home. The kids LOVE doing this!

Birds of a feather

Birds of a Feather. This is one of our favorite units!

We talked all about birds. We talked about robins, cardinals, bob-whites, chickadees, black-birds, owls, doves and many more!

Our bible story this week was John Baptizes Jesus. Mark 1:1-11. The kids loved hearing about the bird that came to Jesus after he was baptized.

In Art this week, we painted with feathers.




We made a bird by painting it and adding tissue paper, we also made bird feeders to hang outside.








The kids really enjoyed playing with bird seed and feathers in our sensory table.


We worked on sorting by sorting by feather color!

We read the books: Bird Calls (play the sounds & pull the tabs) and Bluebird builds a nest.

Next week will be PJ and Teddy Bear Day! Everyone is encouraged to wear their PJ's to school on Tuesday and Wednesday! You also get to bring your favorite stuffed animal!

When we come back to school on the 6th our unit will be Birds of a Feather.

We will be doing show-n-tell so try to bring something that has to do with birds!

The week of the 12th will be pajama and Teddy Bear week. Everyone will get to wear their pj's on Tuesday and Wednesday to school!
