September 14-17, 2009

My 5 Senses! We had another wonderful week. The children are really getting our routine down! Our Bible Story was Adam and Eve. We had a great time as we learned about our 5 senses.

In our Sensory Table this week we had cotton balls, sand paper, shovels and measuring cups.

In Art this week, we worked on a texture collage and we made a "My 5 Senses" book!
All of the children are really understanding and enjoying doing a center rotation. In Centers this week we played in the Block Center, read in the Library Center, worked in the Sensory Table, had fun in the Playdough center, played in the Dramatic Play Center and worked in the Felt Board Center! We celebrated 3 Birthdays this week! Happy Birthday to Rachael, Carter and Vivian!

We think the highlight of our week was the taste testing and smelling the different scents!

We smelled lots of things including: onion, moth balls, cinnamon, peppermint, perfume, and vinegar. Then we graphed them to see which one was the most popular!

(How funny! 1 child thought moth balls smelled good!)

Next, we tasted lots of things. We tried lemons, unsweetened cocoa, hershey kisses, salt and vinegar chips (which both classes LOVED) and lemonade!

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Thanks Cassie and Jen for doing these pages. I love hopping on here while at work and seeing all the kids and my son, Luke having so many great experiences!
