Appreciation

We owe everyone a huge thank you for all of the items that were purchased and donated to our class from our wish list!
THANK YOU!!

The 2's go green

We had a great week. We talked about recycling and how important it is to keep God's earth clean. We focused on the color Green.

Our Bible lessons this week were:
Adam and Eve, Genesis 2 and The Sneaky Snake, Genesis 3.

We had "sneaky snakes" in our sensory table along with green "grass" and other animals. The kids thought this was so funny. They would pull the snakes up and hold them high and yell "SNEAKY SNAKE" and make a hissing sound! It was priceless.

We painted the donated (thank you) toilet paper rolls green and made them into sneaky snakes.

We also made a green book. We will do a book like this for almost every color that we focus on. We understand that these books may not be "keepsakes" type crafts. But, we find that these type crafts are the most treasured to the kids. They do these books pretty much completely unassisted. They are very proud of them!

We also made reusable totes. The handprints are meant to be in a triangle to represent the recycle symbol. We hope that you will use them the next time you run to the store, especially if you child is with you!

In our circle time we 'dressed' Dude, the kids thought it was so funny to remind Dude to "keep his clothes on!" We sang several songs and worked on our shapes, counting, and ABC's. Next week we will begin to use the pictures that you provided during our circle time. If you have not yet given us a 4x6 photo of your child please bring it next week!

In our Wednesday/ Thursday class we had a Birthday Celebration for Brooke, Andrew, Josephine and Reid! The kids had a special birthday snack!

Here is a picture of their yummy snack!

This was also our first week for a sweet ballerinas. Ms. Sarah said that they did a wonderful job!

Next week we will be working on our 5 Senses and focusing on the color Red. Our bible story will be The Red Sea.

Here are few pictures that we just loved and had to share!
Please know, if there is not a picture of you child this week, this does not mean that we did not take TONS of your child!! We just could not add all of them, we are going to put different pictures on this blog every week!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, our door is ALWAYS open!

In Him,
Cassie and Jen

Our First Week!

Wow! What a wonderful first week we had in our 2's class!

Our unit this week was School Days & Making New Friends! We talked a lot about making new friends and all of the fun things we get to do while we are at school. We also talked about what the bible is and our first bible lesson was In the beginning...Genesis 1:1.

We read the book The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. The children even got to play with our very own Chester the raccoon! We also read the books: What to expect at Preschool, Mouse's 1st day of school (which I think was there favorite) and Froggy goes to school.

In our circle time we introduced Dude our weather helping frog. We sang songs about the calendar and worked on our counting!

The children are learning about center buddies and doing center rotations. Everyone had an opportunity to play in our: puzzle, block, play dough, home-living, and art center. In the art center we painted a school bus, made an earth collage, and stamped our hands to go along with The Kissing Hand.

Next week our unit will be The 2's Go Green! We will be talking about recycling and focusing on the color green. Our bible lessons will be Adam & Eve and The Sneaky Snake!

A Few Reminders!

  • Please send your child's snack and lunch in disposable containers.

  • If you have not purchased an official His Kids Tote, see Heather or Suzanne in the front office. More have been ordered!

  • Please send your child a nap mat for rest time instead of a sleeping bag. This is in our His Kids Handbook.

We are going to need several toilet paper rolls for a craft we are doing the second week of school. If you can recycle your TP rolls our way, we would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you!
