Window Art...

Here are the pictures of the window art we created as mentioned in a previous post.

They turned out BEAUTIFUL!

Household Pets!

We had some special visitors to our class this week! Everyone had fun playing with the dogs, watching them do some special tricks and feeding the guinea pig some carrots! It was very sweet to see children go and check on "Dixie" the guinea pig throughout the day.
In Centers this week, we worked on our fine motors and as we fed a dog some bones and a monkey some bananas (monkeys can be household pets....right?)
We worked on counting and number recognition by counting dog bones.
In Art Center this week we worked on a dog collage and we also made a fish aqaurium.
In our sensory table we had dog bones! We worked on sorting the bones by color into buckets using shovels.
We also worked on sorting different types of household pets!

It has been a while since have had out our hammer boards. They really have nothing to do with our unit this week, but they are always a favorite! These were in our Dramatic Play Center this week.

Independence

Here are just a few quick pictures to show how independent your children have become at snack/lunch time.

They have all learned how to open almost all their own things and if not, they will politely ask a friend to help. Scissors are available so that they may cut open their own bags if they would like to open them that way. Someone passes out the cups and they all pass around the water and pour their own drinks too. It is really very sweet to sit back and admire their independence!

Valentine's Day

Love is in the air!

Our Valentine's Day party will be next Tuesday and Thursday.

You will not need to have your child bring a decorated box as we will be making bags in class!

Please have your child bring 10 Valentine's addressed to My Friend.

Check out the party sign up sheet that is outside our door to see what you can volunteer to bring!

Love,
Cassie and Jen

Is there anything sweeter?

On Monday, they were all sound asleep within 5 minutes. The lights were on, door was open and I even changed out our "preschool sleep" CD for a personal one and still none of them even stirred. I guess the excitement of the dogs being at the school (look for pictures on an upcoming post) wore them all out!

much love,
