Dads, Donuts & Water!

WOW, we have been so busy the last two weeks at the preschool! We really have hardly had time to even take very many pictures!

Last week our unit was all about FAMILIES!

We had our wonderful Dad's and Donuts! We want to thank everyone who was able to make it. It is a fun chance for the guys in our little one's lives to see where they spend their time at school!

Our bible story last week was Joseph saves his family from Genesis 42-46. We worked on the scripture Children, obey your parents from Ephesians 6:1. We read so many family books, we think everyone's favorite was "Shopping with Daddy!"
In Art Center we made a puzzle piece art project and also a family collage!
This week our unit was WATER!!!

We talked about all the fun things that can be done with water. We love to ask them open-ended questions and hear what they come up with. Here are some of their answers!
We used new eye droppers to water our plants this week. They were kinda tricky, but fun to use!We also started a science experiment to see what happens when we use colored water with white flowers! We can't wait to see the flowers next week!In Art this week, we began working on a special Christmas "surprise", we stamped using water related stamps and we made a rain drop!In our sensory table we had boats and funnels one day and then dishes to clean the next!
We had so much fun when we went outside to paint with water and splash around in some rain puddles!
We celebrated 3 birthdays! Happy Birthday to Ella, Noah and Harrison!

See you next week!

Carpool....Here we come!

Our class will officially begin doing carpool on a trial basis Tuesday, October 13!

The carpool line forms on the Kingsland side of the building by the East entrance doors.

Carpool will begin at 2:20 and ends at 2:35. We will leave our classroom at 2:15 to walk to the carpool area. If you do not want to pick your child up in carpool, please be at our room by 2:15.

In order for carpool to run smoothly there are a few rules and procedures you MUST follow.

You will be given an ORANGE colored windshield sign that will need to be clearly displayed.
A suggestion for this it to secure your sign to a "skirt" hanger, then hang the hanger from your rear view mirror.

Absolutely DO NOT EXIT YOUR CAR FOR ANY REASON.

Do not be on your cell phone while in the carpool line.

We can not buckle any car-seats, boosters, or seat belts. If your child can not buckle themselves, please pull up and OUT of the carpool line before assisting them.

Please know that we are very serious on the carpool rules and procedures for the safety and well being of your children!

Thank you so much in advance for your full cooperation!

A Few Reminders!

  • We will be doing Library EVERY Monday and Wednesday. Don't forget to bring your child's book.

  • We will be doing Show-n-Tell EVERY Tuesday and Thursday. Don't forget to let your child bring something that goes along with our unit!

  • Please remember that we get "messy" in class. We have lots of fun using paint! Even though the paint we use is "washable" we encourage you to dress your child in clothes that do not matter if they get stained! Save your "good clothes" for the other 5 days in the week.

  • Please let us know your thoughts in the Carpool Poll!

  • Dad's and Donuts is October 6th and 7th!

FALL IS HERE!
Our unit this week was "Leaves are Falling! All about Fall." We enjoyed the cooler weather and talked about the fun things we can do in the fall.
Our bible story this week was The Tall Tower, from Genesis 11. We had lots of fun building many different types of towers this week! Carter even made a tower from the rollers in the Playdough Center!
In our Sensory Table this week we played with fall leaves!

We worked with fall shaped cookie cutters in our Playdough Center.

We worked on our fine motors in this color matching game!
In our Classroom Library we were able to read lots of Fall themed books!

In Art this week, we stamped a leaf collage...and, we worked on a class project! We painted with fall colors and made a tree for our classroom! They loved seeing the tree emerge! We also used the leaves from this project for our classroom door. When we take down the tree after Thanksgiving, every one will get a leaf to bring home! We LOVE doing class project like this!!We sorted leaves by color.

We also worked with these color matching and size sorting blocks!
We were able to celebrate Carter's birthday on his actual birthday! Happy Birthday Carter!!
Everyone really enjoyed our first Show-n-tell! Ella was very proud of her fall pumpkin that she was able to bring to class!
