An Adventure in Space!
(we were able to look thru these fun star kaleidoscopes)
We had a wonderful week learning about space! We talked all about how we live on Earth and how the sun is very hot. We even thought it was funny that Mickey's dog is named after a planet and that Saturn likes to hula hoop!
In our sensory table this week we worked with Moon Sand, shuttles and astronauts.

In art this week we made a sun and moon collage.

We were also able to "read" many books about space!

In Centers this week, we did a lot of our tried and true centers! We played with play dough and odd and ends cookie cutters and other play dough toys, we made towers with blocks, we did tons of puzzles, and we had a drawing center where the kids could just doodle and scribble whatever they wanted!
Our bible story this week was Son of Laughter. We talked about God telling Abraham to count the stars, we would try to count and then get so high we would get all mixed up and have to start again. Every time we would say the name Isaac, we would have to laugh as loud as we could. It was very sweet!
We have implemented something a little new during our snack time and lunch time. If your child does not bring something to drink (almost everyone for snack) then they get to get their own water now! This may not sound like that big of a deal. But they absolutely LOVE this. They can choose to either pour their own water or use the baster.

Have a great weekend!

Next week will be starting a 2 week long unit. It will be Mother Goose (all about nursery rhymes). Along with Birds of a Feather and Eric Carle Extravaganza (coming up) this is one of our FAVORITE units!
