Easter

Happy Easter!

The Easter bunny was able to come to our school this week!

(Don't we just have the best director!)

We had a WONDERFUL week talking all about Easter! Our bible story this week was Jesus is ALIVE! Mostly on this blog, we show you the "academics" of our classroom. But, it truly is such a blessing to both of us to teach your children about Jesus.

We did so many fun things this week during our center time!

We worked on using our fine motor skills to "dig out" these Easter themed erasers and then find their match.

We played with play dough and Easter cookie cutters!

We worked on sorting and again using our fine motor skills with this pom pom activity.

We worked on our number recognization and sorting skills with these Easter eggs and baskets.

In our sensory table this week we matched up Easter eggs that were hiding in this Easter grass!

In our library center this week, we were able to read several Easter books and we listened to Easter Eggs Everywhere in our listening center.

We were able to draw with Easter egg shaped chalk.

We also worked on this water transfer. These pictures did not turn out well, because the water is colored yellow.

In art this week, we painted an Easter egg pattern.

We also made these cross sun-catchers!

Everyone had an awesome time during our egg hunt and our Easter Celebration lunch!

We hope that everyone has a very Happy Easter!!

Easter Celebration

Next week will be our Easter Celebrations!

The Monday/Tuesday party will be on Tuesday and the Wednesday/ Thursday party on Thursday.

Each child will need to bring 12 filled eggs and a basket.

For our few friends that come to both classes please note that your child will be doing 2 egg hunts, so they will need to bring eggs on both Tuesday and Thursday.

Please no chocolate, as it might melt. Monday/ Tuesday parents please remember that we do have a friend who has a peanut allergy (so please NO candy that has peanuts or peanut butter.)

Our Easter Celebration is an "in-class" party. Don't worry, we will take lots of pictures though!

As far as sign ups....
Our Monday/ Tuesday still needs a few people to sign up for somethings. Check out the sign up sheet on Monday when you are dropping off your child to see what you can bring.

Our Wednesday/ Thursday class only needs someone to pick up and drop off the nugget tray. You can check out the sign up sheet on Wednesday or you can always leave a comment to this post volunteering to do that!

Thank you so much!

Transportation

This week our unit was TRANSPORTATION!

In art this week we made a freight train to go along with the book Freight Train by Donald Crews. The instructions for this art project was to paint the train cars in the same order as the book!

We also made a Transportation collage!

In centers this week we worked on our fine motor skills by doing this water transfer.

We were also able to build all sorts of roads, rivers and train tracks.

It was neat to study different road maps!

In the sensory table there were all sorts of Transportation vehicles!
In our new magnetic center, we worked on sorting!

We also made many different tracks with Transportation vehicles!

In circle time this week, we talked about how boats stay on top of the water. Everyone was given a piece of foil to create their own boat. We tested out every boat that was made to see if it would float!

On Wednesday we did a Transportation Parade! Most of the other classes came out to cheer us on!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Wish List

This week our classroom received a brand new magnetic and felt easel. It is awesome and we are so excited!! If you have any neat magnets, magnetic toys, or even just random pieces from those leap-frog fridge toys you would like to donate to our class, we would LOVE to have them!

Thank you!

Accidents happen....

Our school is in need of extra clothes. We have a bin with extra clothes just in case of accidents. However, the bin seems to all be size 5T or larger clothes. If you can donate any clothes (shorts, pants, tops and underwear) we would GREATLY appreciate it!

These clothes do not need to be new.

THANK YOU!!!
