Household Pets

(This is our dog, Rhett, and my son's class mascot, Lucky!)

Our unit this week was Household Pets! We had a great time talking about dogs, cats, fish and other animals that can live in your house!

Our bible story this week was David and Goliath.

In art this week we practiced using small glue dots for our dog collages.
We also made a fish aquarium!

In our sensory table the kids were able to scoop up dog bones.

We also used dog bones to help us with counting.

We worked on sorting by sorting different household animals.

On Tuesday and Thursday we will be doing our Valentine's Day Parties!

Valentine's Party!

Our parties will be Tuesday February 10 and Thursday February 12.
We will be doing a Valentine exchange. We suggest that you and your child address their classmates Valentines To: My Friend.
Each child will need to make at home a decorated cereal box to bring for the exchange. These boxes can be covered with wrapping paper, fabric, construction paper, foam etc. and then decorated with stickers, glitter, drawings, the possibilities are endless!

All the sign ups are filled up for the items we need for our party (you guys are the BEST!!)

Remember, our Valentine's party is an "in-class" party. Don't worry though, we will be sure to take plenty of pictures of your little Valentine!

Camping

A camping we will go!

We had a blast with our camping unit. All the kids loved playing with flashlights in our tent! We had fun fishing in our sensory table!

In Art this week we painted a tent.
We also made binoculars out of painted toliet paper rolls.

Our Bible Lesson this week was The Good Samaritan. The kids loved the picture in our Bible of the Good Samaritan giving the hurt man band-aids!

The highlight of our week was our special snacks though! On Monday/ Wednesday we made Trail Mix.

On Tuesday/ Thursday we made Smores!

Not all of the kids enjoyed the Smores, some thought they were a bit to sticky! It was very cute, we sure which we could turn down a Smores :)

On Monday we celebrated Matthew K. and Dylan's birthday!

Everyone enjoyed showing off the camping show-n-tell items and they are really getting the hang of our library system down!

Next week our unit is Household Pets! If you have any small pets (such as fish, birds, hamsters, lizards, etc..) please talk to us about your pet paying a visit to our class!

On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week will be class pictures!

See you next week!

Zoo

Our unit this week was At the Zoo!

Our bible story this week was a Baby in a basket. The kids really "got into" this bible story. Ask them questions about Baby Moses!

In circle time we learned a new "rap" song that helps us count to 20. They respond so well to these "rap" songs. It is so funny!

In art center this week we made our feet into lions.

(s0rry, I can't get this picture to turn...)

We also made zebras from marble art!In our sensory table there were hidden zoo animals, the kids had to find the animals and then match them up.

Happy Birthday Laney! We celebrated her big day on Thursday. She brought the book Pinkalicious for us to read along with some yummy pink cupcakes. A few of the kids refused to eat their pink cupcakes in fear that they might turn pink. It was hilarious!

Next week will be such a fun unit, it is one of our favorites! The kids love talking all about camping! Please don't forget to bring your toilet paper rolls and any special snack items that you have signed up to bring.

On Monday and Wednesday is when we will do Library each week, so don't forget to bring your book!

Much Love,
Cassie and Jen
